2017 is just around the corner which means the rumours for features on new flagship smartphones, such Image result for finger print sensor in screenas from Samsung, LG and more, is starting to happen. For the majority, a lot of the rumours tend to not occur (especially the images that people render of what they think the smartphones will look like). However, from searching all over the internet, it is apparent that in the future, be it next year or the year after, there are some exciting features that will be coming to smartphones which will generally change the way we use them. Here are some of these cool features.

#1 Integrated Fingerprint Sensor into the Screen

First rumoured with the Samsung S8, there are plans by Samsung to get rid of the home button to increase the size of the screen on the smartphone. From doing this, the fingerprint sensor will obviously be removed as well. Therefore, there has been some considerable thought into making the screen itself a finger sensor, so that the user only has to touch the screen to unlock the smartphone. If this is the case, it is potentially the feature that will blow all other competition away.

#3 QuickCharge will get Quicker

QuickCharge is the term used to describe Qualcomm’s hardware and software which allows for smartphones to be rapidly charged. A few years ago, it would take a few hours to charge a smartphone completely. Nowadays, you can do it withing 40 minutes. But, with technology improving, we can expect this to keep on decreasing. For example, not long ago there was a test to see how charge a smartphone can be charged at CES, which showed a smartphone fully charging from zero in 3 minutes…3 minutes! Although the technology was a little dangerous when doing this, it shows that it is possible and will happen in the future. We can expect smartphones to fully charge withing 30 minutes next year.

#4 Artificial Intelligence

Although it has already come with the Google Pixel and Pixel XL with Google Assistant, every other smartphone still does not have any type of AI. Both Apple and Samsung are developing their own AI systems to compete with Google, which should debut with the iPhone 7s and the Samsung Galaxy S8 next year. For this reason, AI will continue to surround smartphones next year, as different OEMs use Google Assistant or introduce their own versions of AI.

#5 Amazing Cameras

This year, we have seen the iPhone 7 Plus and Google Pixel and Pixel XL blow the competition away with their cameras – they are truly getting to a stage where they are competing with traditional stand alone cameras. With this, 2017 should see most flagship phones follow on suit, using amazing cameras to create images that are of DSLR quality: especially if other OEMs use two cameras like Apple have done.
