How to Install Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy Downloaded Drivers
Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audigy on your system
Please ensure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running the setup program.
Setup will now exit.
Just as with my Sound Blaster Live! I’ve now run into the issue of not being able to install the Sound Blaster web drivers. This time, it’s for a customer, and it’s an Audigy.
Not only that, but I had to use DriverGuide to get the stupid pack. Creative Labs doesn’t even offer a non-upgrade driver pack from their website!! Creative Labs, you officially suck now. I have always bought your products in the past, but now that your customer service sucks this much, I won’t be buying anything from you again.
That said, you can actually install the drivers that you download, but you’ve got to be tricky.
Here’s how to force the Creative Labs Audigy 2 downloaded drivers to install:
You will need to download WinZip or WinRar (depending on the file type you download from DriverGuide) and then open the Audigy driver pack with it. Extract its entire contents into c:\temp or somewhere similar.
Following that, go to the device manager and double click the “PCI Audio Device” item. Click on the Update Driver button, and browse to the directory where you extracted the Audigy driver pack’s contents. Go through those misc. steps, and all should be well.

Hm doesnt work for me.. Cant click okay in that window that pop ups when you try to choose driver by yourself.. The only location I can choose is the E: Drive.. (Dvd-rom)

You RULE. I used this same method to finally install the drivers for my POS SB 5.1 Live! card. I’ve had the dumb thing for years and never got it working properly because Creative offers absolutely NO HELP to their customers.
Thanks so much for posting this fix. I’ve always had Creative cards, but after this experience, I’m NEVER buying another Creative card again!!!

i have installed it the way you suggested, got the drivers installed but through the surround mixer i cannot get it to set to 5.1

Hello guys;
I have the same problem with my Sound Blaster 5.1 (”Setup couldn’t…). I read your solutions; but i still have two questions:
1) My card is not Auddigy or Live! version either; where can i find these driver packs that you mentioned?
2) On my device manager there’s not a item named “PCI Audio Device”. Where can i find it?

Hello guys;
I’ve the same problem with my Sound Blaster 5.1. I read the suggested solution from you but i still have some questions.
1) Where can i find these driver packs that you mentioned? My card is not Live! or Audigy version either and on internet i couldn’t find the right drivers. Can i find them on the cd?
2) There’s not an item named “PCI Sound Device” on my Device manager. But i’m sure that i put the card to right place. What can be the problem?

For the past 3 days I couldn’t get ANY drivers I downloaded to work for my SB Live! 5.1 audio card.. downloaded the freaking drivers from Creative Lab’s own website only to find that they DIDN’T WORK EITHER!! Finally came across your solution on the net and wallah! Drivers installed just fine! Just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH I LOVE YOU.
