5 Tips Android Users Should Make Note Of

There are millions upon millions of smartphones that run Google’s operating system, Android. It is a Related imagebrilliant open operating system that is used on the extremely cheap budget phones all the way up to the flagship class-leading smartphones – there is always an Android phone that will fit your needs.

As great the Android operating system is, it is surprisingly that a lot of people still do not know the real benefits, tips and tricks that the operating system has: especially those that have gone from the, what can be deemed, simplier Apple iOS operating system. For this reason, here are five tips Android users can take note of.

  1. Set a mobile data limit – A lot of contracts nowadays do not have unlimited internet and data usage. Android has thought of this by providing a section in the settings menu that allows you to cap your mobile data limit. Well, not cap but make you aware of how much data you are using for the month. With this, you can set notifications to appear when you reach close to your data limit, so it can remind you to stop streaming so much Netflix otherwise you won’t have any mobile data left at all for the rest of the month!
  2. Disable notifications – Another feature that appears by going into settings, apps and then clicking on the respective app, this feature allows you to prevent an applicaiton from showing any notifications in the notification bar. For some apps that continually provide useless updates or have a notification that is fixed in the notification bar, this feature can really make your notificaiton bar that bit more clean and more efficient to view.
  3. Reduce animation time to make your smartphone feel faster – Although there are many things you can do to make your smartphone quicker, the easiest one is to reduce the animation time between clicking on something and having it appear. This can be done by becoming a developer, which is achieved by continually clicking on the Build number of your phone in ‘About phone’. Once a developer, the developer settings will appear in settings allowing you to reduce your animation time, where the default is set to 1.0x.
  4. Find out how long your battery will last – Unfortunately, it is still far too common for many smartphones to run out of juice before night falls. As much as we hate having a slow phone etc. we can all agree that the worst thing to have, worse than a slow phone, is a dead phone without battery. By navigating to ‘Battery’ in the settings, you can see a prediction, based on extrapolation of your current battery drainage, how long your battery will last before it dies, along with what apps are causing the battery to drain, in terms of battery percentage.
  5. Aeroplane mode speeds up charging – Qualcomm quick charging does charge very quickly. But, if you are in a rush and need the most amout of charge possible, the best way to do this is to set your smartphone into aeroplane mode. What this will do is disable bluetooth, wifi and mobile networks, which do require quite a bit of energy to transmit from the smartphone. Less enery being loss = more energy maintained in the phone = quicker charging.
