3 Changes Phone Manufacturers Need To Change

194bva.jpg

It’s a common saying to say not to continue bad habits. However, 99.9% of people will continue bad habits even if they know it is bad for them. Unfortunately, the same can be said about smartphone manufacturers that tend to like to do things their own way and stick to it with a huge reluctance to change for the future. It is annoying to say the least but something that, I guess, the consumer does not have much control over. For this reason, to shed some light to phone manufacturers, here are three of the things phone manufacturers need to change in order to discontinue the ‘bad habits’ they still do which consumers just do not agree with at all.

#1 16gb

For most, they will understand this. When the iPhone first came out, it’s smallest memory was 8gb. Soon, this came too small as everything become larger in size from photos to music to apps and more so turned the minimum storage capacity to 16gb. However, for around 5 years the storage capacity has consistently stayed at 16gb. Why? I am pretty sure the majority of people who have 16gb devices will run out of memory so why not change it to 32gb? It’s a simple evolution that many manufactures have not continued.

#2 Expandable Storage

As well as having a storage capacity that, for the modern world where smartphones are now recording in 4k resolution at 60 frames per second, isn’t enough to even save a 5 second video, some manufacturers think it is a good idea to not have micro SD card slots. I can understand why they think this as by having a micro SD card slot will reduce the sales of the higher storage smartphones such as the 64gb and 128gb capcity phones.

However, having no expandable storage is just a no. Smartphone users need as much storage in this modern day than they have ever needed before.

#3 Speed Consistency

Everyone loves a new phone. It feels new, sharp and fast and every swipe will make a fluid transition on the home screen that seems to be addictive. However, months go by and you start to download apps, recharge the battery and use the phone on a daily basis. Due to this, some phones speed serious diminish to the point where they cannot be used for even the simplest of actions…this cannot be acceptable. Above anything, consumers want a phone that should last them for at least a year. However, it turns out some phones will only last 6 months at best before they become too frustrating to use.

There are a lot of good points phone manufactures are doing too. For example, Samsung’s S6 Edge was a nice innovation. However, there are still bad habits in the market that really do need ironing out.
